(Nasdaq:ALDX) (Aldeyra), a biotechnology company focused on the development of products to treat diseases related to free aldehydes, today announced that novel data on its lead product candidate, NS2, have been accepted for a poster presentation at the upcoming Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer-International Society of Oral Oncology (MASCC-ISOO) Annual Meeting, taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark from June 25-27.

Aldeyra will present the objectives, methods and results of a study evaluating its small molecule aldehyde trapping agent, NS2, in the treatment of radiation-induced oral mucositis.

The poster title and date of the presentation are provided below:

  • Administration of the small molecule aldehyde trap NS2 in a hamster model of radiation-induced oral mucositis
    Poster: 10-11-P
    Date & Time: Friday, June 26th, 8:00am-6:00pm

Todd C. Brady, M.D., Ph.D., President and CEO of Aldeyra, commented, "We are excited to present this data for NS2 at the upcoming MASCC-ISOO Annual Meeting, the premier scientific conference dedicated to cancer supportive care. NS2 administration significantly increased the healing rate of lesions in radiation-induced oral mucositis. These data suggest the potential of NS2 as a prophylactic and therapeutic approach for mucositis and other diseases characterized by severe inflammation."

About NS2

NS2 is an aldehyde-binding small molecule based on an innovative platform technology focused on trapping free aldehydes, which are toxic and pro-inflammatory mediators of numerous diseases. By decreasing aldehyde load, NS2 may mitigate excessive inflammation and address diseases where aldehydes are thought to mediate pathology.
